Hi and welcome to Productworx. We have been involved in Motorsport and the building/construction industry for more than 20 years.
We are always on the lookout for a product or tool that will save us time, improve reliability or generally make life easier.
When we are working on site or at Motorsport events, we are often asked what tools or products we use. We built this web site to provide reviews and our personal experiences on items we have in our own tool boxes.

With so many different tools and products to choose from and a vast array of cheap alternatives on the market, it can be very confusing on what to buy. When we were doing our research, we found it hard to find online information from actual people that had owned or used a particular product or tool. Most of the product reviews tended to be biased and some were from a shop salesman who had taken the product straight out of the box, not a tradesman using the product on a work site. It was difficult to know if the item would work well in the real world. This is also why we created Productworx.

We’ll continue to increase the products and tools listed on Productworx as we complete more reviews.
Hopefully what we have learnt will save you a lot of time and money and help you to make an informed decision.

Thanks- Productworx

Is Makita as good as people say?

Having used air powered impact wrenches for many years, we decided to purchase a cordless impact wrench.  Now cordless tools are much lighter and easier to work with and have the same or more power than the air equivalent it was an easy choice to go cordless, just a bit trickier to decide on the right brand. We bought a Makita BTW251 18V Cordless LXT Lithium-Ion 1/2-in Impact Wrench Kit.

The safety issues with tripping over air lines or handling bulky compressors has now been removed. The reliability and power of the brand has been proven.

With many different manufacturers offering cordless tools on the market it can all be a bit confusing. Comparing one against the other on paper isn’t always easy.  We’ve taken the guess work out of the equation by reviewing our own tools. We chose the Makita Cordless Compact Lithium-Ion Impact Driver Kit for our tool kit. Having put the driver through regular hard work in a variety of situations and tasks, we find it light weight, powerful and reliable.

With the type of work we do, cordless is really the only answer. For many years we’d used electric drills to do the bulk of our heavy duty drill work as the Ni-Cd cordless drills we’ve owned in the past didn’t have the power to do more than drive in a few small screws and the larger heavy duty units were both bulky and the batteries wouldn’t last long in terms of charge and overall life cycle.

In the last few years dragging a generator to remote sites has become cumbersome. Also with modern safety requirements for tagged electrical equipment, it meant electric leads, drills and the generator all had to be tested and tagged every 3 months. Using cordless tools eliminated all of those issues immediately and made the whole job much easier, the question was: “Which one to buy?”

There are many cordless power tool manufacturers in the market these days and some are not as good as others. We have chosen the Makita 18V Cordless LXT Lithium-Ion 1/2-in Hammer Driver-Drill Kit Why?

Over the years we have used many different types of engine oil in many different types of engines. We’ve always ensured that we have run good oil in our competition engines, some have worked ok however have been very costly, others have just not lived up to expectations. Engine Oil Review

Behind the wheels are some of the hardest working components of a vehicle, the brakes . Even in everyday driving, brake components are subjected to a lot of heat and the harshest of conditions, such as water, mud and even snow and ice.
